Swing Set Build Off!

So the time has finally come! Hurray, Yippee Skippie, Gnar, and everything in between! lol. OK so I'm a BIG kid at heart. The girls are getting there first swing set, and that is a big deal I think. Well I wanted something big ,wooden, amazing, sandbox, and the whole nine yards. We decided that it wasn't going to happen just yet. If we build something that amazing its going to be somewhere permanent. Meaning were buying that house and not moving ever, so were not moving that someday massive swing set! SO I decided that I was going to find a swing set that matched mine as a child. Wouldn't you know they still make them! Cray cray right, lol. Everything is pretty much the same with one exception mine was blue and theres is red.

Even funnier my little brother came out to visit and he was like " Umm sis?? Is this our old swing set??"
Me " Umm Yeah :) "

My lovelies were super excited to help, that they ran off with probably every part more than once. I was one mama that thought this would never end, what did I get myself into, and holy crap I'm going to lose my mind if they disappear with one more bolt!

Finally got them to sit still with a little snack bribery. Chocolate milk anyone??

Here it is! I am also proud to say it hasn't fallen down yet, lol! You can find it here ~~> Flexible Flyer Swing Set

Such a happy little lovelies.

I even had my faithful side kick Zeta chicken, standing next to me the whole time I put this together. I swear she thinks she a dog sometimes. She so loyal, but that's a whole other story. Want to see something funny??? Click ME! :)

We had a snow day!!

My hunny had a snow day from work.....so we took FULL advantage of it. Here's our day in pictures :)

Snow fall from the night before our snow day.

Half way up the mountain....

One happy little girl.

Another happy big girl.

Took a minute to enjoy and help dad build a "snow angel".

4-wheeling up the mountain now to go to our little sledding spot :)

Then later that day the girls Unc came over and asked if we wanted to go play again, of course we said yea!! Little did we know that not even half way up our 4x4 would give out :(

All in all great memories :)

Mr. Jumpsalot Got New Digs

Spoiled Rotten!!! That's a good word for him, lol. Love him to pieces though.

We have had Mr. Jumpsalot (a.k.a. Jumpsy) Since June 2012 and the other day he finally bit me that little stinker. Though if you ask me I'll just tell you that it was a "love bite". So we were expecting new baby chicks, hints for the reason Jumpsy got amazing new digs and things to go along with it. I bought him a little bed that I wasn't sure he would even use. To my surprise as soon as I put it in there he was all about it!

I have to also admit that it looks so much NICER, that what was there..... his other home had charm but it was time for an upgrade. He is my only little buddy, its nice that Dar has another "male" in the house. :)

Little goof ball was laying all cute.

He'll tell you other wise, but he loves his little ladies. There his BIGGEST fans. He loves to cuddle.

We were having a photo opt moment. This is a very rare occasion. He never sits still long enough.

Bird feeders :)

So the other day I decided that the girls, Dar, and I were going to make some pine cone bird feeders. Lets just say they turned out great and the girls had a blast making them!

They really didn't take to long, I mean the hard/messy part was just covering them in peanut butter. I always save a few coffee cans so that was easy. I put a little bird seed, well in our chase some chicken scratch which i refer to as "chicken crack" they go crazy when I bring that stuff out. Anyways I poured some into the coffee can and place the peanut butter covered pine cone in and then let the girls shake to there little hearts desires. All in all we had a bunch of fun.

Though I warned the girls it might take a couple days for the birds to find it. Well the day they finally did, I had about 20 little birds all over our deck. It was a nice site and the girls watched for ever!

Little Update......

So as far as the Sustainable Eats Challenge is going, we our right on track. Everything is being reused in someway or another. Getting composted, or given to Mr. Jumpsalot if hes aloud to eat it. :) So the soil building area is covered for the month also. Getting a tiller soon so I can really mix it up with the garden area. Cant wait!

We have been getting our seeds ready for this up coming spring. I have marked on the calendar recently when I shall be starting things indoors, moving things outdoors, and planting directly into the earth. I'm super excited for the fact that I have the Mr.'s kinda excited to help out! Were expanding our garden by hmmmm, ALOT! Ill take pictures as we go through the expansion progress.

Also we our getting ready for the goats. I have been walking around the property scoping out areas to fence off there pin. Its not going to be a little pin, there going to be spoiled I will tell you that now. I was going to start building there house this week, but the weather took a spin towards the colder side. So that will have to wait a little while or Ill just man up and get out there.

Mr. was actually talking about wanting to raise some pigs. I wasn't expecting for him to say this so I had to take a step back. Though I'm all for it so yeah. Whatever gets him involved :). Have I mentioned that I have a bit of a pig themed kitchen, lol. I have had a pig obsession since I was 12, lets just end it at that.

Holy EGGS! that's all I have to say. They have been laying for alittle over a month now. I have been keeping track on the calendar daily of how many eggs I receive. It was for a couple weeks about 1 egg, 1 egg, then 3 eggs and again. Then its turned into 3 eggs , 5 eggs, 4 eggs and then the cycle repeats and that's were we are at now. So for having 7 chickens that's alot of eggs I think. Though this coming March we are adding to our chicken family by alot.
